Awaio vs Parakey: mobile keys alone, or the whole workplace?
Parakey calls itself the Nordic region’s most widely used mobile access solution. It sells its own locks and controllers that unlock offline, and an open API that booking systems use to send keys. Awaio also opens doors with the phone, and adds lockers, desks, rooms and parking for offices and shared buildings, all in one system.

Awaio made this page to help you compare Awaio and Parakey. It’s based on public sources such as each vendor’s website, documentation and app store listings. Brand and product names belong to their owners.

Key differences
- Scope: Parakey does one job, mobile access to doors, and does it at scale. Awaio also opens doors with the phone, and runs lockers, desks, rooms and parking in the same app.
- Booking: Parakey has no booking of its own. A booking in Nexudus, BokaMera or a Zapier flow can send a time-limited key. In Awaio, booking and access are one system, so the door opens for the booked time.
- Hardware: Parakey sells cylinders, door handles, a door lock and controllers that unlock without internet. Awaio’s Smart Access Box connects existing doors, barriers, turnstiles and gates, and Awaio’s own locks fit lockers and drawers.
- Pricing: Parakey has an annual subscription sized by places, users, locks and fobs, with hardware bought per door. Awaio is priced per resource, with unlimited users, and you can start with one module.
