Swedish bank Avanza runs 753 smart lockers and 98 meeting rooms at its head office on Regeringsgatan in Stockholm from one app. Employees open lockers with their phone and book rooms on the same office map, across seven floors.
A digital bank with a busy HQ
Avanza is one of Sweden's leading digital banks and investment platforms. Its head office in central Stockholm spreads over several floors, and many employees work flexibly between home, the office and different teams.
That makes personal storage a daily question. Who has which locker? Where are the keys? And what happens when a floor is rebuilt and the lockers have to move?
Keys that don't scale with a flexible office
Avanza wanted lockers and meeting rooms that employees could find and book themselves, without a key cabinet or a helpdesk ticket. The solution also had to keep up with an office in transition: floors were being renovated, rooms were merged or added, and lockers were moved between floors along the way.
Lockers and rooms in one app, floor by floor
In 2025 Avanza chose Awaio for its head office. The first phase covered 500 Bluetooth smart locks, each with a numbered QR sticker, installed in the existing lockers, and 98 meeting rooms in Awaio Room Booking. Floors 4 to 10 were set up as interactive office maps, with lockers grouped in clusters per floor and room, and every meeting room placed where it is.
In 2026, as renovated floors were taken into use, Avanza ordered 253 more locks. Existing lockers moved to new floors kept working: they were simply re-paired to their new position in the system.
- Lockers numbered by floor, so 4001 is on floor 4 and 6001 on floor 6
- Meeting rooms named by floor and number, as ordinary bookable rooms and drop-in rooms
- Employees sign in with their existing Microsoft account
- Admin and user training held on site at the HQ
Awaio Smart Locks: your phone is the key
Awaio Smart Locks are battery-powered locks that retrofit existing lockers, so there is no need to replace the furniture. Employees unlock with their phone over Bluetooth. Access is granted when a booking starts and removed when it ends.
For Avanza, that meant the existing lockers could go digital, and could be moved during the renovation without changing the locks. The locks also work offline, and every opening is logged.
Awaio Locker Management: one overview for every floor
Awaio Locker Management is where facilities set up and run the lockers. Admins pair a lock by scanning its QR code, place it on the office map and set the booking rules. Employees see free lockers in real time and book them in the app.
With clusters per floor and room, the facilities team can follow where lockers are and how they are used, also when the layout changes.
Awaio Room Booking: the right room, booked in seconds
Awaio Room Booking lets employees find a free meeting room and book it from the mobile app or a web browser, and the office map shows them the way. Bookings are integrated with the calendar, so a room booked in Awaio appears where people already plan their day.
Admins set booking rules, such as the longest allowed booking and how far ahead rooms can be booked, once for every room. Check-in and automatic release of unused bookings can be switched on when needed, so empty rooms do not stay blocked.
For Avanza, this means lockers and meeting rooms live in the same app, with one login and one map per floor. As rooms were merged or renamed during the rebuild, the map and the room list were simply updated.
Is your office changing faster than your lockers and rooms?
Awaio turns the lockers you already have into bookable, keyless storage, and puts every meeting room on the same map in the same app, from the first floor to the whole building.
