The Awaio Outlook add-in lets users book desks, rooms, parking, and other workplace resources directly from a meeting in Outlook. It's deployed centrally by an IT admin through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center — users don't install anything themselves.
Before you begin
You'll need Global Administrator or Application Administrator access to your Microsoft 365 tenant.
Step 1: Download the Awaio Outlook add-in manifest
Download the add-in manifest file. This XML file tells Microsoft 365 where to load the Awaio add-in from and which permissions it needs.
Download awaio-outlook-add-in-manifest.xml
Step 2: Open Integrated apps in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
Go to Settings → Integrated apps in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Step 3: Upload a custom app
Click Upload custom apps and select Office Add-in as the app type.
Step 4: Upload the manifest file
Choose Upload manifest file (.xml) and select the awaio-outlook-add-in-manifest.xml file you downloaded in step 1.
Step 5: Review permissions
Review the requested permissions and click Next.
Step 6: Assign users
Under Assign users, choose Entire organization to roll it out to everyone, or select a specific group if you want to pilot it with a test group first.
Step 7: Finish deployment
Click through the remaining steps to finish deployment. Microsoft 365 will push the add-in out to the selected users — this can take up to a few hours to appear in Outlook.
Using the add-in
Once deployed, users will see an Awaio Workplace button when they open or organize a meeting in Outlook. Clicking it opens a task pane where they can book resources for that event without leaving Outlook. See Booking resources from Outlook with the Awaio add-in for how to add the button and use it.
