When Oslo law firm Brækhus Advokatfirma moved into new offices at Wergelandsveien 15, it put lockers, desks and meeting rooms on one platform. Every cabinet in the building opens with a phone, and every desk and room is booked in the same Awaio app.
A new address, and a chance to rethink the working day
Brækhus Advokatfirma is a law firm based in Oslo. In 2026 the firm prepared to move into new premises at Wergelandsveien 15, spread over six levels from the basement changing rooms to the fifth floor.
A move like this raises practical questions. Where do people keep their belongings? How do they find a free desk? How do they book a room for a client meeting without walking the corridors?
Brækhus wanted those answers in place before the first day in the new building, not as an afterthought.
Lockers built in from the start
The building's landlord decided to fit every wardrobe cabinet in Wergelandsveien 15 with Awaio Smart Locks. Awaio partner Håndverkskompaniet, the contractor on the project, installed and set up 119 locks across floors one to five.
Furniture maker Aarsland Møbelfabrikk supplied another 70 personal cabinets with Awaio locks, most of them for the basement changing rooms.
Every cabinet has a numbered QR code that follows the floor: 101 and up on the first floor, 201 on the second, and U-numbers in the basement. That makes it easy to find a locker on the office map.
Awaio Smart Locks: a phone instead of a key
Awaio Smart Locks are Bluetooth locks that fit new or existing cabinets, drawers and lockers. Employees unlock with the Awaio app on their phone, so there are no keys or cards to hand out and no codes to manage.
- Works offline, with access syncing when the connection returns
- Personal lockers, shared pools or visitor lockers, set per cabinet
- A timestamped log of every open and close
- Managed in the same admin portal as desks and meeting rooms
With Awaio Locker Management, the office team gets a live overview of all 189 locks, including battery levels, and can share or reassign access without calling IT.
Awaio Room Booking and Desk Management: one map for the whole office
Brækhus wanted meeting room booking in the new office and also looked at desk booking. The answer was Awaio Workplace with both.
Awaio Room Booking covers 13 bookable meeting rooms. Rooms show live availability, unused bookings are released automatically, and rooms can be booked from Outlook through the Microsoft 365 integration. A further 15 focus and multi-purpose rooms are shown on the map for drop-in use.
Awaio Desk Management covers 120 desks. Employees see which desks are free on a live office map, book ahead, and check in on the spot with a QR code on the desk.
The office maps cover all six levels, so desks, rooms and lockers sit in one view. There is no limit on users or admins, and the app runs on mobile and the web.
From floor plans to go-live
Brækhus sent floor plans with room names and desk layouts. Awaio built the maps, rooms, desks and lockers in the firm's admin portal, and Brækhus's own administrators now run the system day to day.
The firm started using Awaio in its new offices in October 2026.
