Jönköping, 2 July 2026. Simonssongruppen has acquired a majority stake in Awaio through a combination of new capital and the purchase of shares from, among others, Balder, K-Fastigheter and previous minority shareholders.
The investment marks the next growth phase for Awaio, strengthening the company's European presence, accelerating digital sales and supporting the next generation of its Workplace Management platform.
Awaio is one of the Nordic region's leading Workplace Management platforms and has, over the past years, taken a leading position within digital locker management in Sweden and Norway. The platform is used by more than 100,000 users and customers including DNB, Mölnlycke Health Care, Statkraft and Oslo Municipality.
Built for the workplace shift happening across Europe
The workplace is undergoing its biggest transformation in decades. Hybrid work, digitalisation, rising cost pressure and higher expectations from employees are forcing organisations to rethink how offices, people and resources work together.
Awaio sits at the centre of that shift.
The platform brings together workplaces, meeting rooms, parking, access, wayfinding and digital locker management in one solution. It helps organisations create a better user experience, reduce administration, optimise resources and make decisions based on real workplace data.
Over the past six years, Awaio has developed from an innovative workplace solution into a scalable platform for modern Workplace Management. Through continuous product development, close customer collaboration and a clear focus on operational value, the company has established a proven business model with recurring revenue, high customer loyalty and strong international potential.
Built together with customers
Since the beginning, Awaio has been developed in close collaboration with its customers. The result is a platform designed around real operational needs, not theory.
Today, Awaio is used by enterprise customers, public organisations and property-related businesses in more than 20 countries. The company has built a strong position by helping organisations simplify the daily workplace experience while giving management better control, lower administration and measurable cost savings.
A long-term partner for international scale
Simonssongruppen is a family-owned investment company with roots in Jönköping. Through its holdings Huset Invest and Tosito, the company invests long-term in businesses and real estate, contributing both capital and knowledge.
For Awaio's founding team, it has been critical to find a majority owner that shares the company's long-term view on value creation, company culture and international growth. The founders will retain a significant ownership stake and continue to lead the company.
Simonssongruppen brings capital, experience in company development and deep knowledge of the real estate and IT sectors: a combination that gives Awaio a strong foundation to accelerate its next growth phase.
"Awaio is exactly the type of company we want to work with: a proven product, a scalable business model and a team that truly believes in what they are building. We look forward to taking the next step in the company's journey together with Awaio's entrepreneurs," says Niclas Ekblad, Simonssongruppen.
"Demand for smarter and more flexible workplaces is increasing rapidly across Europe. We are very pleased to welcome Simonssongruppen as majority owner. Their long-term perspective, network and deep understanding of both the real estate and IT sectors give us a strong platform to accelerate our international expansion and further strengthen our position as one of Europe's leading Workplace Management platforms," says Björn Kjellgren, CEO & Co-founder, Awaio.
A united next step
Awaio's founding team (Björn Kjellgren, Niclas Eglinger, Tommy Englund and Tor Helge Lunde Sørensen) fully supports the transaction and welcomes Simonssongruppen as the company's new majority owner.
"We have built a strong company with a proven product, more than 100,000 users and customers across more than 20 countries. With Simonssongruppen as majority owner, we gain additional strength to accelerate internationally and continue developing the Workplace Management platform for the future," says Niclas Eglinger, CGMO & Co-founder, Awaio.
