The Awaio add-in is published on Microsoft Marketplace, so you can add it from inside Outlook the same way you'd add any other add-in — no file to download, nothing to install on your computer.
If your IT admin has already deployed it organization-wide, it will simply appear in Outlook and you can skip this article.
Before you begin
You'll need an active Awaio account at your organization. The add-in signs you in with the same account you use in the Awaio app.
New Outlook for Windows and Outlook on the web
Step 1: Open All Apps
On the Home tab, click All Apps — or the ⋯ (more options) menu if you don't see it.
Step 2: Click Add apps
Select Add apps to open the add-in store.
Step 3: Search for Awaio
Type Awaio in the search box and open the listing published by Awaio.
Step 4: Click Add
Click Add, then accept the permissions prompt. The add-in is available straight away — you may need to restart Outlook if it doesn't appear.
Classic Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac
Step 5: Click Get Add-ins
On the Home tab, click Get Add-ins. You can also open any message or event and choose Get Add-ins from the ⋯ menu.
Step 6: Search for Awaio and add it
Search for Awaio, open the listing, and click Add. Accept the permissions prompt to finish.
If you see Request instead of Add
Some organizations don't let people add apps on their own. In that case Outlook shows a Request button instead of Add.
Click Request and, if prompted, add a short note explaining what you need it for. The request goes to your Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Entra admin. Once they approve it, the add-in appears in Outlook automatically — you don't need to do anything else.
If nothing happens for a few days, contact your IT team and point them at Installing the Awaio Outlook Add-in.
Finding the Awaio button afterwards
Once added, the Awaio button appears when you open or organize a meeting. If you can't see it, pin it to the event toolbar via ⋯ → Customize Toolbar — see Booking resources from Outlook with the Awaio add-in for the full walkthrough and how to make your first booking.
Removing the add-in
Open the add-in store the same way you did to add it, go to My add-ins, then use the ⋯ menu next to Awaio and choose Remove. Add-ins deployed centrally by your IT admin can't be removed this way — ask your admin instead.
