KPMG Norway moves to modern HQ in Bjørvika

After 24 years at Majorstuen, KPMG Norway has relocated its headquarters to the newly renovated Oslo Atrium in Bjørvika. The move marks a major cultural and strategic shift toward a more modern, sustainable, and collaborative workplace. The new HQ spans 30,000 m², with KPMG occupying three full floors and bringing 1,300 employees. The building features open floor plans, advanced technical solutions, and design elements that foster collaboration and flexibility.

“This is more than a physical move—it’s a new era,” says CEO Rune Skjelvan. “We’re going from 16 floors to just over 3, in a space designed for flexibility, interdisciplinary teamwork, and a stronger focus on technology.”

The new HQ represents a new era

The move represents more than just a change in location; it’s a cultural transformation for KPMG, transitioning from 16 floors to three, and the new office supports interdisciplinary collaboration and technological integration. The open first floor encourages public interaction, aiming to make the workplace more accessible and inspiring.

Awaio’s Smart Lockers part of their new vision

Sustainability has been central to their new move, which is one of the many reasons why KPMG installed Awaio’s Smart Locker system. The mix of new and old cabinets, combined with Awaio’s technology makes this a very special and unique project. This is great for both the environment, administration costs and ease of use. It is Awaio that makes this possible by the fact that our locks can be installed in both existing and new cabinets. Of a total of 1684 cabinets and wardrobes, 40% of them are retrofit and reused.

Flexible and sustainable by design

Awaio’s smart locker system is built for today’s dynamic workplaces. Its flexibility allows lockers to be used for everything from personal storage to parcel deliver. The Bluetooth-based system works without Wi-Fi or complex infrastructure and can be installed in both new and existing cabinets—making it easy to scale or reconfigure as needs evolve. On the sustainability front, Awaio enables reuse of existing furniture, reducing waste and the need for new materials, while promoting longer product life cycles. It’s a smart, future-ready solution that supports both efficient space use and greener operations.

Employees can book and access lockers directly in the Awaio app — whether they need:

✅ Personal lockers

✅ Gents and women’s locker rooms
✅ Service desk lockers

Awaio’s smart lockers transform traditional storage solutions into efficient, digital systems tailored for modern workplaces. Designed with user experience in mind, Awaio’s smart lockers streamline storage management, reduce administrative overhead, and enhance operational efficiency in contemporary workspaces.
